|Walkern Pre-School is an organisation which likes to promote its small, friendly, village atmosphere. We are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and are OFSTED approved; we can also offer free nursery grant provision. The Pre-School provides daily morning and afternoon sessions with a maximum of 20 children permitted, thus we are able to develop good relationships with both children and parents.||
|Our morning sessions are targeted to those children who are due to start Primary School the next year. Thus we can prepare the children for the experience of school and be more specific with their "learning through play" activities, due to the close age range of those attending the sessions.|
Our afternoon sessions accept children from the age of 2½ and are run according to demand. It is the norm for a child to start with two sessions per week, rising to perhaps three or four per week (after consultation with parents) in the second or third term of attendance.
|Walkern Pre-School is set within the grounds of Walkern Primary School and hence is able to benefit from the surroundings. We have an enclosed outdoor area adjacent to our premises, but we also make use of the school playground, hall and playing field for other activities. The premises itself provides bright and cheery surroundings with the children's current work constantly on display to provide a stimulating environment.|
The Pre-School also works towards an annual Christmas play, Summer sports day and organises extra-curricula activities such as Summer and Christmas Discos and the annual Pre-School day trip.
