Walkern Primary School Council

Our School Councillors -

Choose Learning; Choose Friendship; Choose Kindness

Walkern School has a small group of children who have been elected by their peers to form the School Council. The council is made up of two children from every class, ranging from Reception, through to Year 6. The representatives provide a meaningful way to voice the student’s opinions and have their views taken into account.

When interviewing for prospective new Teachers, the council plays a very important role in the interview process.  The children meet with the Head Teacher   to prepare and compile their own set of questions, enabling them to actively take part in the interview.

The School Council provides leadership and development opportunities for the children, encouraging them have a say in their education.
