Welcome to Class 1's Blog
Mrs Thurman - Nursery Nurse
Mrs Doneo - Teaching Assistant
Miss Gillum - Class Teacher
We are looking forward to an exciting half term and performing our Christmas play.
This term we are learning about "people who help us". The children will be looking at different stories around this and making links with topics based around keeping healthy safe and happy.
The Department for Education published a document 'What to Expect, When?' This document outlines to parents what you may see your child do at different stages of their Early Years from birth to 5. It will give you a taste of what we are doing at school to support your child's learning and also has some great suggestions as to how you can help your child at home. Please click on the link: What to Expect, When.
Most children in the class are currently working on phase 3 of phonics please help your child to transfer there phonics knowledge into independent writing by sounding out words phonetically with them. Children are developing an understanding of finding 1 more or 1 less than a number please continue to do this at home with your child.

The children have really enjoyed looking at the sunflowers they were fascinated by how tall they are so we decided to measure the sunflowers. The children decided different tools to use to measure the sunflowers, they agreed to use pens, cups, pencils and cubes.
The children enjoy a variety of play based activities based around the EYFS Curriculum and are all happy to be at school here are some photos from our learning.
